White chocolate is one of the culinary delights to which I’m strongly committed. White chocolate, soft and creamy, as only white chocolate can be. Unfortunately, my husband is not a great fan of white chocolate, otherwise I’d use it much more in my recipes without a doubt. It’s not that he dislikes it, but as far as chocolate is concerned, he prefers the dark version. No problem, a difference in preference at times maintains a good relationship, even if it’s for the love of something insignificant as chocolate.
Today it’s all about baking cookies. I haven’t yet figured out a schedule or a recipe at all yet. Recipes come and go with me, depending on what I see, smell or feel. Since I still have a whole bunch of white chocolate on stock, for that matter, the choice is easy (I’m sorry hubby, but today it’s my turn to pamper myself). My homemade vanilla extract is staring at me, asking me whether it’s his turn again today to be of any use. Well, why not, come to me, let me cherish you, you deserve it.
So, white chocolate and vanilla, check! What me more available? Let’s see…. Cashews, always a winner! Wait, is that my husband speaking to me in my mind, saying: hold up girlie, please don’t forget about me too today. Allright sweetheart, I’ll meet you halfway, especially for you I will incorporate some cocoa, not excessively, just a little as compensation, after all, I don’t want to spoil you too much. The cookie is coming together, I collect all the ingredients and get started.
A cookie with a hint of vanilla, with a filling of white chocolate and cashews. On top I’ve put a figure in the shape of a butterfly, symbolizing balance and sweetness, with cocoa incorporated. A subtle distinction as a small gift for my hubby.
Inventing a recipe doesn’t have to be difficult, it’s just a matter of gaining inspiration and deliberation, no fuss, spirit is what it takes. Occasionally, bending to the delights of your loved ones, definitely is a part of that.
