American Pancakes

I can highly recommend an American pancakes. These American treats are a great variety of food for breakfast or a delicious dessert after a dinner party. Soak them with a sweet maple syrup or cover them with a ripe banana and let your mind take you to the land of the stars and stripes.

Prepared according personal recipe without sugar and with Greek yogurt (!!), making them nicely thick yet fluffy. Exactly how an American pancake should taste like but with a personal touch.


Recipe Pancakes

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Serving Size: 6 Pancakes (American Size)

Recipe Pancakes


  • 125 gr flour
  • 150 gr Greek yoghurt
  • 60 ml milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (SEE RECIPE)
  • pinch of salt


  1. Mix in a bowl flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix with a whisk the greek yoghurt with the egg.
  3. Add milk and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture and keep mixing with the whisk until smooth.
  5. Melt a little butter in the frying pan on middle heat, put on low heat once the butter has melted.
  6. Fill ½ a soup-ladle with batter and pour it into the pan, keep the pancakes small (American size) and when the upper side of the pancake is blistering and bubbling it's time to cook the second side.
